  198.  As  well as  THE FINAL  FRONTIER, I'm  working on  several other  STAR TREK
  199.  projects, including  a complete  WHO'S WHO OF STAR TREK plus many more in a 
  200.  series of reference disks. It will feature a complete list  of every actor, 
  201.  writer, director, stuntman,  designer, musician  and everyone else  who has 
  202.  had ANYTHING to do  with TREK! However, I can't do it on  my own, so if you
  203.  want to  be a part  of the most  accurate STAR TREK  reference guide  EVER,

  215.  I need  researchers, brief  entries for all  people listed  and suggestions
  216.  for layout, what information should be included etc.

  218.  I also need an  artist to design the  title pages (a  different screen  for 
  219.  each edition) and a musician (an original new tune for each disk).

  221.  I want to get the first version out  within 6 months so get writing - we've
  222.  got a lot of work to do!

  224.  The finished  disk will be PD and  it will be updated every 4-6 months. All
  225.  contributors will get a free copy as it is finished. Please write NOW!

  230.                            Advertising Rates
  231.                           -------------------

  233. To place your  own ad on  THE FINAL FRONTIER,  simply send  the advert  in on 
  234. paper (text only) or on disk (as ASCII files or as IFF art files). DON'T send
  235. any money with the advert. 
  236.  
  237. When we receive  the ad, we will crunch  it using PowerPacker Professional to 
  238. make the advert as small as possible. You will then be notified of  the cost.
  239. Then send the appropriate amount and we'll publish your ad. 
  240.  
  241. The reason we don't want any money first is because of our advertising rates.
  242. You will be charged for however much disk space your advert takes up. Simply,
  243. you will be charged a set amount depending on how many "units"  of 100 bytes,
  244. or part  thereof, that  your ad  uses. The  cost per  unit is 2p  for private
  245. individuals, fanzines or clubs and 4p  per unit for mail  order companies, PD
  246. libraries or shops.
  247.  
  248. If  your advert  is not Trek  based, e.g. for  a Star Wars fan  club or for a 
  249. person selling his collection of Blake's Seven merchandise, please add 50% to
  250. the above rates. Basically, the non-Trek advert rates are 3p and 6p per unit.
  251.  
  252. However, Convention organisers can  advertise for FREE! We know the hard work 
  253. you put  into organising  the cons,  and the  trouble you  have in  arranging 
  254. guests. A free advert is the least we can do. On top of that, the more people
  255. that attend a convention, the better it is.
  256.  
  257. However,  so we don't end up having to pay for the adverts ourselves,  please
  258. enclose  a SAE so  we can  contact you to  tell you  how much money  to send. 
  259. Otherwise it would mean that we would have to charge more.
  260.  
  261. For example, a private ad takes up  15k. We  crunch this  down to  7032 bytes 
  262. (Note - this  isn't an exact  figure). You will then  be charged for 71 units 
  263. which  is £1.42 for  individuals/clubs or £2.84 if  you are from  a business. 
  264. Simple, eh?

  266. Please note that all  money received will go  straight back into  the mag and 
  267. will be  used to  cover postage  costs, disk  costs for  free issues  and for 
  268. competition prizes.
